The Launch of Agricultural Voices was a successful and well-attended event. If you were unable to attend the event, you can watch a recording of our presentations here.
As with so many other events this year, the AVS launch event took place online due to the current situation with Covid-19. However, this meant that supporters and colleagues from all over the world could take part in the event, something that wouldn’t have been possible if the project had taken place in person.
The launch began with a series of presentations by the project contributors. Dr Mirela Barbu, the project PI, introduced the project rationale and its implementation. Then, Dr Shaher Abullateef, the project coordinator for activities in Turkey and Syria, explained the role of the Syrian agricultural experts in the project. Following this, Dr Martin Spinelli, the project co-I, discussed the potential podcasting has as a knowledge exchange tool for development. Finally, Katherine Jones, the Communications Officer, presented our website.
After the presentations, the attendees of the event had the opportunity to ask questions about the project. This led to an interesting discussion about the potential of podcasting in development and the future of the AVS podcast.
You can watch a recording of the presentations below. The discussion segment of the session was not recorded.
