AVS workshop during the SSRP week – 11 November 2022

The Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) is launching a second phase with the aim of scaling up research in pressing sustainability issues, and to become a leading institution in providing science in order to achieve the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a just and equitable way. To celebrate this new phase, the SSRP will host a series of free events between 7 and 11 November 2022, held at the University of Sussex.

We are pleased to invite you to the workshop “Is Sustainability Possible in Conflict Zones? The experience in Northwest Syria” on Friday 11 November, 15.00 -17.00 in G32 Jubilee Building. The speakers will describe how the podcast and video series called ‘Agricultural Voices Syria’ have provided extension services in Northwest Syria, delivering critical information on sustainable agriculture to hundreds of farmers. A panel will discuss whether this model project can be scaled up to provide hope for sustainability in the many areas of the world suffering from domestic and international conflict.
